Greetings From the Latrine Issa Ibrahim 2013 music CD- Limited Edition, limited quantities collector’s item UPC 888174649771
This is probably my most “rock” oriented album, with plenty of poorly strung, out of tune and feedbacking electric guitar bits after years of recording in an asylum bathroom with little resources and having no choice but to make my acoustic guitar a sort of lead instrument. The songs range in theme but are basically inspired by a fleeting ill-fated affair with my co-lead singer in the band DSM5. I like how I inadvertently echoed a bit of U2 with the guitar work in “Over-Reaction” and I also like the cheesy but effective synth drunk horn section on “Professional Victim”. Also notable is the XTC-like big drum sound on “Living in An Incubator”.
Fave track- “TEMPORARY SANITY” was written in the back of a NY State van during a long trip from Queens to Albany to attend a meeting for hospital directors. I was there to sing a song or two and convince them my band of outpatients and volunteers DSM5 were worthy of a couple thousand dollars to record a CD of my original material. While I didn’t sing this one to them, as it was too fresh, I couldn’t wait to get back to my recorder to polish it up and knock it out.
10 songs written, performed and produced by Issa Ibrahim. Limited quantities.
