Pop Music Voodoo vol. one Issa Ibrahim EP 2016 music CD- Limited Edition, limited quantities collector’s item UPC 190394737214
“You’ve woken up in a world you never would have imagined. It is so destabilizing that you begin to question your sanity. You might be ready for POP MUSIC VOODOO!” So read the copy of the psycho sci-fi gonzo film I created from “Breaking News” clips and a broken heart, realizing that Donald Trump was a lock for the presidency and racism reigned supreme while all decency was lost. I attempted to make a full album, with other volumes to follow, but lost heart, petered out, got destabilized then psychotic and had to be re-hospitalized. While the world will never know what awaited them in volumes two or three, I feel this stand-alone 4 song EP sums up the dawn of the Trump era and end of humanity better than anything else I could produce. “I Come First” is a standout, while “Crazy”, whose melody came to me in a dream, is lifted considerably by the co-lead vocal of DSM5’s MaryBeth Pepe.
Fave track- “WHEN THE SHIT HITS THE FAN”. Getting over a brief cold and nursing sore vocal cords I still had to get this song about the impending apocalypse recorded. I believe it’s one of my best vocal recordings and an overall successful track.
4 songs written, performed and produced by Issa Ibrahim. Limited quantities.
