Time To Be Black Issa Ibrahim 2014 music CD- Limited Edition, limited quantities collector’s item UPC 888174652306
Most of these songs were inspired by a fleeting ill-fated affair with my now departed co-lead singer in the band DSM5. ‘Time To Be Black’, ‘Wearing Me Out’, ‘In Another Life’, ‘Remember the Wine’ and ‘Deal Breaker’ were ripped right from the pages of reality, with ‘She’s Moved On’ a tender and somewhat poignant denouement. “The Dark Knight Comes Again” is my brief foray into a faux Hip Hop and I come off sounding a bit like The Fresh Prince, for better or worse. I like ‘Mid-Life Crisis’ for its voodoo tom tom drum sound, and ‘Who Cares?’ seemed to sum up my disillusionment with society after being locked up and yearning to return to the world only to get out and discover it’s a shit show out here.
Fave track- “AUDREY” started out as a poem and ode to great women, then I realized it encompassed all the wonderful things I remember about my mom and that I was writing about her.
10 songs written, performed and produced by Issa Ibrahim. Limited quantities.
